Three letters—FPC—have much to say of who we are and
what we’re about.
We’re
First Presbyterian Church. Located
downtown at the corner of Walnut and Chestnut streets, this
congregation has been part of the Jeffersonville community
for 175 years and has been worshipping on this corner since
1860. As part of the Presbyterian Church USA, "First Prez"
offers a vibrant yet traditional Sunday service in a
handsome and well-kept facility, along with a variety of
other opportunities for worship, fellowship, study and
service. Members of our congregation come from all parts of
Clark and Floyd counties, as well as Louisville, and we seek
always to warmly welcome our visitors.
FPC—First Presbyterian Church. That’s who we are.
What we’re about is Faithfulness,
Proclamation and Community.
Faithfulness
is at the heart of Christian life and discipleship. The
highest expression of God’s faithful love toward humanity is
found in the coming of Jesus Christ into the world and,
likewise, we believe that a Christian’s best expression of
love toward God is faithfulness to Christ’s example and
teaching.
Here at First Prez, we understand the Proclamation of
God’s faithfulness and love in Jesus Christ to be a central
task of the church. Therefore, we seek to proclaim the Good
News of the Gospel in all that we do, say and undertake.
With the guidance and help of the Holy Spirit, our aim is to
live and work together as a loving and welcoming
Community of believers, serving one another and reaching
out to those around us in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
FPC—these three letters have much to say about us, but
that’s not all there is to say. If you’d like to find out
more about First Presbyterian Church of Jeffersonville, give

joy to welcome you! |
