Quilters
– This "stick-to-it" bunch of faithful church women meets on
Tuesdays, beginning at 9:30 a.m., working on one or a few
quilts at a time. In addition to funding "good works"
with their needles and thread, participants enjoy fellowship
over a brown-bag lunch as part of their time together each
week.
222 Club
– 222 is our address – 222 Walnut Street – but it’s also the
name of an active seniors’ group that meets monthly, either
for a gathering at the church or an outing. Past trips have
taken the group to Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant in
nearby Starlight and The Overlook Restaurant in nearby
Leavenworth. This group gets around and always welcomes
newcomers.
First Prez Friends
– The name says it all… Singles and couples sign-up each
quarter for three monthly get-togethers of long-time members
and new friends. Each group chooses its own time, place and
way of gathering, but everyone enjoys being together and
becoming better acquainted with others in the church family.
At the end of the quarter, after three gatherings, sign-ups
are held, new groups are formed, and we begin again.
First Prez Presents…
– Our beautiful sanctuary is used for more than just Sunday
services. In the spring and fall, we open our facility to
some of the area’s premier performers for Sunday afternoon
or evening concerts. Past performances have included sacred
and secular mixes of classical, pop and traditional
Appalachian music.
Brown Bag Bible Study
– In addition to our Sunday morning offerings, special
evening and/or noontime Bible studies are held at various
times throughout the year, usually led by the pastor.
